Cinder's Thanksgiving

Cinder's Thanksgiving

Cinder got to meet a new boyfriend Dakota.  Dakota is the male dog of Uncle Kevin's roommate's girlfriend.  Dakota is only one month older than Cinder.  This was the first dog she got to play with that is about her same age.  Most dogs Cinder is around are older and don't have the stamina or patience for her activity level.  Let's just say it was a good thing Cinder was not in heat and Dakota is fixed.  They REALLY enjoyed each other!  Cinder also enjoyed playing with Brad and Greg!

Hole in Your Pants

Uncle Pat claims that I embarrassed him by sticking my finger in a hole in the side seam of his jeans that was eye level to me.  What can I say...I'm observant.  Who wears jeans with a hole in them to meet his girlfriend's extended family?  What a schmuck!  He has had it out for me ever since his big embarrassing debut in our family.  :-)

This has been a joke between us for years...so I wasn't surprised by the diaper he wrote on...

Meeting Relatives on Kev's Side

Maylee met distant cousins on Grandpa Dean's side who also live in the Portland/Vancouver area.  She met Jan, Steve, Marlene, Teresa, Greg, and Brad.

Meeting Relatives on Wendy's Side

We went to Oregon for Thanksgiving so Maylee could meet family and friends from both sides of her family.  All together she met 24 new people.  On Wendy's side she met Great Aunt Jan, Great Uncle Pat and their boys Derek and Connor.  She also met Great Aunt Jean, Great Uncle Kelly and their kids Emily and David...however, we forgot the camera when we met up with them.  Wendy has a college friend, Kelly (bridesmaids for each other) who lives in Hood River so we stopped by her house too.  We got to meet Kelly's new baby and her family.

Maylee's First Thanksgiving

Maylee says, "Happy Thanksgiving!" She even tried to eat her turkey (evidence on the bib).

Shopping at Daddy's Favorite Store

Pre-Thanksgiving

We had Pre-Thanksgiving up at our house with Great Grandma Linda, Grandma Shirley, Grandpa Dean, Uncle Craig and Tabitha.  Grandma Linda showed Maylee her first snow storm.

Kev has softball plans for Maylee's future.

First Week of Daycare

Maylee is being watched by our neighbor Allison who is a stay at home mother with three young girls.  It is so nice to be able to just walk across the yard to drop her off and pick her up.  Her first week went really well.  Maylee takes a bottle and sleeps great for Allison.  Her little girls really like Maylee.  I think having Alison watch Maylee for 4 half days towards the end of Kevin and me staying at home with Maylee helped with the transition.  We also started practicing with a bottle after she had a great established latch and was about 2 weeks old.

We had arranged for a lady up the road to watch her.  However, when I called this lady to see if they could meet and get to know each other she informed me that she decided to go back to work two weeks prior.  I wanted to say "You didn't think about calling us since you knew we were planning on you for daycare since August!"  Kevin and I panicked since many places don't take newborns.  We probably just dodged a bullet with that situation since Allison is working out so great!
