Christmas Day 2011

Christmas Morning
Maylee came up the stairs and ran straight for the Santa treats she left.  She noticed Santa ate her cookie and drank the milk.  She also noticed the Santa presents left in the same spot.
She wanted to open her stocking presents first.  There were little animals in them!
Her favorite that she latched on to immediately was the polar bear.
Now, going for the BIG one!
She was so excited that Santa brought her a rocking horse!
Yee-haw!
Smirking...sooo happy!
Next, she opened her other large Santa gift.
It was a zoo for all the animals!  Santa must have heard the story about the polar bear who pooped in the water because in this zoo the polar bear slides down to the water.
Cinder loved her new toy from Maylee.  Maylee picked it out and helped wrap it.
She remembered exactly which present was Cinder's under the tree for two weeks and found it again under Ammie's tree when we brought our presents down, even though others were wrapped in the same paper and about the same size.  Cinder loves to bite at wrapping paper and pull it off packages.  We have to watch her so she doesn't take over and unwrap Maylee's gifts.
Ammie and Papa loved their new book about Maylee...
More presents...
Once she opened Dora pajamas from Ammie and Papa, she had to wear them right away.

Christmas Eve 2011

We traveled down to Ammie and Papa's house on Christmas Eve.  We attended evening church service and then asked Maylee to smile for a picture in front of the tree with her pretty dress on...she was way too tired at this point...

My Secret Pal at school gave me this really neat Santa plate and mug.  Maylee left one of her sugar cookies that she made with her grandmas and some milk for Santa.

Meeting Santa

The evening of Dec. 19th, Maylee called Santa.  Santa told her that he would stop by Mama's school the next day and she could come too!  Then he told her "Ho, ho, ho!"  Her eyes lite up and she wanted to read Santa a book and show him all her toys.

The next day, Ammie brought her to school and she sat on Santa's lap.  She told Santa she wanted a horsie and that she loved him.  She was definately not afraid and gave him lots of hugs.  She was also excited to see the kids at school!

Silly Goggle Girl

My mom's school released for Christmas Break before ours did, so she (Ammie) and Great-Grandma Doris (Big Ammie) came up for some Maylee Time.  Papa found some small googles for Maylee to use while skiing and sent them up with Ammie.  Maylee thought they were fun to wear in the house and acted quite silly with them.

Maylee talked Big Ammie into pretending to go Ni-night on the floor.
(Big Ammie is 80 years old!)
 Generations making sugar cookies...
Maylee was in charge of picking what cookie cutter and adding sprinkles.

Church Christmas Program

Last year, Maylee was a wandering cow for the manger scene.  This year, she was a sheep but still wandered.  The cute, little sheep liked hanging out right next to Baby Jesus.

Here is a picture of Maylee trying on the costume at home.  She loved to shake the bells that dangled on the front.  We had practice at home being a sheep (crawling on the floor and saying "baa") but or course she didn't crawl at all during the program...just showed off her personality and shook her bells instead.

All the kids downstairs, prior to the start of the program...

During the program...

I think her personality during the program shows in these pictures.
She had a great time and was not shy at all to be in front of our filled church.
