Maylee's 3rd Birthday

Maylee's Moscow Party
We had Maylee's 3rd birthday at her grandparent's house in Moscow because it is a more central location for her extended family than our house.  Her actual birthday fell on a Monday this year, so we bumped up the celebration for the weekend.  She always loves to party!  She chose a "colorful owl" theme.

Parachute Games
Maylee's parachute is always a big hit at parties,
especially when her P.E. Dad leads the games.

The girls found the gravel pile before the boys...

"Happy birthday to you!"

Present Time...

 She enjoyed her cake...

That night, Maylee did "Face Time" with Aunt Shelly and Uncle Kevin so they could watch her open the present from them.  Part of it was jewelry, which Maylee thought she needed to share with her dad.

Maylee's Friend Party at Mom's Classroom
(on her actually birthday)
For the past year, Maylee has been invited to birthdays of her friends in our area
so she told me she wanted a birthday party with her friends too.

She picked parachute games again...

Cake Time...
We had "Dirt Cake" for the guests, but Maylee thought she needed both...

August 2012

Kenzie and Josh's Gender Reveal Party
I guessed a boy so I had my pic taken with a blue mustache.  Maylee guessed a girl and didn't want to wear the mustache so she chose a pink cupcake.  Later, the excited parents-to-be cut into a cake and found blue!

Pool Time with Carol and friends from Carol's house...

 Visiting Penelope
We took many trips up the road to feed Penelope carrots.  Riley Dog also liked attention.
"Penelope's Mama" works with Kev at the Middle School.

Helping pick grapes at Grandma June's house.
In August, the house was on the market so this is our last season having access to those yummy grapes.

Playing in my classroom while I set it up.  She matched my large crayons to the paint tray poster.

Maylee's Memory...Roof Colors
Her memory surprises us all the time and how she will make connections.  One thing that we found funny is that she remembers houses not by their siding color but by their roof color.  She knows Emma and Sarah's roof is brown like hers, Nana Jo and Papa Dean's roof is green like Ty's cabin, and Ammie and Papa's roof is gray.

Moscow Time

I had a teacher math class for three days before school started and Kev was still on fires so Maylee had to go to Ammie's house.  She had fun with her extended family.

Pool Day with 2nd Cousins...

Combine ride with Uncle Gary...Harvest Time!

She also went to Pullman to swim at that pool with her cousins, Emma and Sarah.
On the way back, she saw the Welcome to Idaho sign and started saying...
"I - D - A - H - O.
I don't know! I don't know! I DON'T KNOW!"
(She honestly thinks that is how the Vandal fight song goes!)

Kev's Busy Fire Season

The fire season started off slow in Kev's zone so he was sent to help on fires in Montana.  He was on the one outside of Helena and the huge one in Eastern Montana.  Then he came back for five days, during which we bought a new car for our expanding family...something we have been researching and planning on for more than a year.  Next, Kev was sent on fires on his zone or neighboring forests.  We did not see Kev for more than a month!

At the end of August, Kev worked around the station because he didn't have enough time before his last day to go on another fire.  This is when we finally got to see him after a month!
On this day, we joined him for lunch and spent some time with him during his break.
