Uncle Craig & Aunt Tabitha's Wedding

Kev's brother Craig married Tabitha in Greencreek, Idaho on Sept. 29, 2012.  Kev was a groomsman and Maylee was a flower girl.  She practiced well at rehearsal, but I was worried that once all the people filled the pews the next day she would be nervous.  I told her that there would be "lots of people in the benches just like our church" when she does the flower girl job the next day.  Maylee's response was, "Can I talk?" I said, "No."  She associated going up front as flower girl with going up front for children's sermon at our church.  During children's sermon she ALWAYS has to point out to everyone where her mom and dad sit, plus other things. We were worried that she would steal the spotlight and say something, but she was good.

Maylee loved dancing...

Who knew Uncle Potlatch had moves?

She also liked dancing/playing with Drew's (Kev's high school friend) little girl...

When we knew she was tuckered out, we started walking back to our truck.  Maylee asked where we were going and we told her it was time for bed.  She said, "I'm not done dancing."  She was asleep as soon as we buckled her in her car seat and slept hard.

My personal favorite pics from the wedding...

Gender Reveal

We did not find out if Maylee was a boy or a girl until she was born.  This time around, Kev wanted to know but I wasn't sure which way I wanted to go.  We decided to have the results sealed in an envelope in case we wanted to find out later.  All summer, it bothered Kev to know the envelope was at our house.  And, all summer I tried to convince Maylee that the baby could be a boy or a girl.  She would ALWAYS respond, "I picked a sister" or roll her eyes and say "It's a girl, Mom."

So I finally gave in to Kev at the beginning of the September...on one condition.  I wanted the two of us to go on a special date night when we open the envelope.  The Wednesday, before Maylee's birthday parties, we chose an upscale restaurant who seated us in a private table area.

We both thought it was a girl because the first trimester was the exact same as Maylee's.  But, thoughts of the baby possibly being a boy crept in our minds because the heart rate was lower at the past two appointments and I have been having a lot of sciatic nerve problems with my left side which I did not with Maylee.

Opening the Envelope...

Gender Reveal to Family and Friends in Moscow
We had the kids go inside the house to eat cake, while the adults bit into a cupcake outside to find pink or blue.  We were worried that Maylee would find out in Moscow and ruin the surprise before we could reveal to our friends at home.  The guests had to vote with pink and blue Hershey Kisses whether they thought the baby was a boy or a girl.

Gender Reveal to Maylee and Friends at Home
We had Maylee unwrap the largest present last at her birthday party.  She knew if blue balloons came out then the baby was a boy, and if pink balloons came out then the baby was a girl.  However, she still would say "It is a sister."  We had our guests write their name whether they thought the baby was a boy or a girl.  Notice, Maylee must have convinced all her friends at Carol's house that the baby was a girl because there were only two adult votes for a girl, the rest were kid votes.

It's a GIRL!
