Maylee is trying to be like the green frog behind her...

Her favorite ride was this little kid roller coaster train.  

It goes around seven times, and she did it three times in a row.

My Little Writer

I was washing dishes and had Maylee work on Ammie's birthday card up at the table.

I told her to write something nice in it.  I heard her say "I like reading books with you."

Then I went over to see how she did.  I expected to see a swirl for her sentence and she had letters!

She wrote ILRBWU...I = I, L = love, R = reading, B = books, W = with, U = you.  

As a kindergarten teacher, I was excited to see that she is writing with beginning sounds (a 1st quarter skill) and she is only 3!

 Ammie, the first grade teacher, was also impressed!

 She discovered the sign...

Kaleah is developing quite the personality.  She also rolls over now!  She knows what some words mean even though she isn't saying anything but babble.  She likes to laugh and Maylee is good at getting her to.  She will look around and then lock her eyes on who you say when you ask "Where is (Mama, Maylee, Cinder, or Dog)?"

Our Garden

Kevin wanted us to start having our own garden.  First, he removed an old, uneven sidewalk in back of our house.  Then, he built and filled in the raised beds.  My job was to start plants in the greenhouse and have them ready for the boxes.  This was a long project, because he was only able to work on it when he came home between fires so I had to re-pot the plants into bigger pots often.  Maylee and I kept things watered well...which meant sprinkler time for Maylee.  She loved being able to pick and eat blueberries, strawberries, thimble berries, and pea pods while she was playing.

 Maylee planted these seeds...she over-watered the trays on the left which caused the seeds to wash out.

She is helping "dig for gold."

Her plants are getting bigger...

Donata's Wedding

Donata is a close family friend and chose Maylee to be her flower girl.

The wedding was held on her parent's property and had a country theme.

It was perfect for Donata and Matt!

4th of July 2013

Kev was in Colorado on fire assignment so it was just the girls and I.  We joined friends and participated in our local celebration.  Again, matching dresses selected by Maylee.
