Days after Christmas

We spent some extra days in Kamiah between Christmas and New Years.  Here are a few pictures from those days...

Maylee likes to walk in other people's shoes now...

 Playing with Dada's old toys...

Playing with Mama's sewing scraps...

Grandma Shirley and Papa Dean gave Maylee a baby doll.  It surprised us how much she knew about taking care of the baby.  She got her changing pad and diaper out for the baby independently.  She also got a tissue to blow the baby's nose.  Later, she put the baby in the portable high chair and had to feed her.

We also met up with some of Kev's high school friends who have girls around Maylee's age...

Christmas in Kamiah 2010

After Christmas with Wendy's side we traveled to Kamiah to celebrate Christmas with Kevin's side.

We woke up and pretended it was Christmas again...

Thanks Tabitha for the really good cookie!

Maylee's cousin got this same toy from Santa and played with it Christmas day out on the farm.
She was very excited to get one too!

Of course the new clothing from Uncle Craig and Tabitha had to be put on right away...

Grandma Shirley's reaction to the book we gave her...

Stocking Time! Maylee enjoyed pulling each little gift out one at a time.  When she unwrapped each one, she had to drop each ripped piece of paper off the edge of the coffee table and onto the floor before ripping another piece.  This was a long process due to most of the wrapping paper pieces she pulled off were small.  I was suprised by her thinking because no one told her or showed her where to put the wrapping paper.  She was systematic with all the pieces going on the floor one at a time! (Thank you to Aunt Karen for teaching me how to make the quilted stockings.  For those who haven't seen them, I have made each of them to have a snowman on the front to represent each of us.  Kev's snowman is hunting and my snowman is skiing.)

Maylee knew just how to use her new play cell phone...

Of course, Cinder scored with presents too!  She loves to unwrap them and we often had to guard Maylee's presents because she was so slow about opening them and Cinder was anxious to show her how to rip the paper off fast.

Christmas Day 2010

Santa surprised Maylee on Christmas morning with a new car seat! She ran immediately to her new seat and knew it was for her.  I love her expression! Of course she had to be buckled up too.

Next, she continued to search for candy canes on the tree and she found one in the back that we missed.
She climbed over presents to get to it...
Maylee likes to help...

 Ammie loves her book...

Maylee finds ribbons and wrapping paper are entertaining...

Cinder loves the bone that Maylee gave her...

Maylee LOVES facing forward! She was tired after Christmas morning but fought hard to keep her eyes open because she didn't want to miss anything.  She kept saying "Hi Mama!" "What's that?," and "Wow!" (When tired, she always sucks her right thumb and uses her left hand to play with her ear or belly button.)

On the way out to the extended family Christmas gathering, we stopped by Ruth and Don's house.

There were about 55 out at Aunt Connie's house this year.  It was exciting to see cousin Mandy's preemie twin girls doing so well and Maylee loved the babies...very fascinated by them.  Maylee played really well with all her cousins and shared the toys. She really liked sledding with cousins Lilly and Austin.

There was so much going on at Connie's house that the 20 minute nap on the way out to the farm was the only nap she took.  However, she had a great attitude the whole day and crashed on the drive back to Ammie's house after 10 pm.  She deserved to sleep in. Unfortuately, she got her first molar that night and was pretty cranky when the throbbing kept waking her up.

Christmas Eve 2010

We spent Christmas Eve with Papa and Ammie.  We went to church and had the first Christmas Eve dinner in their new house!  Maylee could not stay away from candy canes on the Christmas tree.  Every time we turned around she would be back at the tree finding more candy canes.  Soon all the candy canes were hanging at the top but she would continue to look hard for them.

She is giving us the "stink eye" for moving the candy canes up higher...

Our cute Christmas Eve center piece...

Meeting Up with the Tofslie Girls

While we were in Oregon, we met up with Kelly and her two girls.  Maylee thought Ashley needed help eating and had to check to see if her friend had a belly button too.  Got to love toddler etiquette!  (Can  you tell that she recently learned about this body part?)  Then we bundled up all three girls and let them play in the snow before it got too dark outside.
