Maylee at the Waterpark

Maylee likes the waterpark we take her to.  She loves the sound of water!  Her favorite thing to do so far is to sit in the yellow bucket seats and let her legs move in the water.  She has gone down some of the slides too.

Her swimsuit is one that Kev bought her when she was four days old!  He bought a size 18 months with plans of her wearing it this summer.  It fits her now...we will see about this summer.  :-)

Maylee Loves her Cinder Dog!

Maylee really became aware of her dog in January - at four months old.  She has started reaching out for Cinder and watching Cinder move around.  She has even tried to put her mouth on Cinder like she wants to give Cinder a give sloppy kiss!

The other night, we put Maylee in her seat and put it on the floor because she loves to be close to Cinder.  We really got some good laughs at the two of them together.  Cinder really wants Maylee to play yet she knows to be gentle.  Maylee on the other hand is not so gentle to Cinder when she reaches out and grabs at her.
Cinder occasionally likes Maylee...this is the first time she licked her hair and gave her a hairdo!

New January Skills

This month, Maylee...

1. Became more aware of her dog and reaches out to grab Cinder
2. Explored her mouth and vocal chords more. Our favorite noises are her growling and cooing sounds.  Her growling is always so lady like sounding!  She will take turns with Kev growling back and forth at each other.
3. Giggled really good for the first time
4. Has become more aware of sounds and turns her head to figure out where the sounds is coming from
5. Developed an interest in food that her parents are eating...trying to grab at it and opens her mouth
6. Notices toys and prefers the toys she can grab and put her mouth around
7. Figured out how to find her thumb to suck when she is tired and wants to sleep...she prefers her right thumb
8. Sleeps about 8 1/2 hours every night and goes about 10 hrs between feedings at that time.  During the day she eats about 6oz every 3 hours.
9. Still loves the whales singing to put her to sleep and being swaddled!
10. Continues to roll once in a while from her back to her belly, but not belly to back yet.

All Grandparents in 1 Day!

Maylee got to see all her surviving great grandparents and grandparents on both sides in one day and it was not a special occasion day.

Remembering Grandma June

Sadly, Grandma June passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17th.  We are so lucky that June and Bob were able to join us for Maylee's first Christmas.  It was a beautiful day and very special day!  These are our last memories of her.  She loved Maylee and was very proud to be a great-grandma! Maylee enjoyed sitting on Grandma June's lap looking at wrapping paper and watching Cinder play!

Baptism Day - 4 Months Old!

Maylee was baptized on Jan. 10th at the same church her parents were married in and by the same pastor that performed their ceremony.  She wore her mother's baptism dress and used a white blanket that someone made for her mother.  It was nice that Grandma Julie kept these items.

Uncle Kevin and Aunt Shelly are her Godparents!

Maylee did not cry during her baptism.  In fact, she must have known that it was her day!  She was quite the little ham as Uncle Kevin showed her off to the congregation after the ceremony.  She just talked away and smiled lots!  People were still talking about how cute she was in church weeks later.

Happy New Year 2010!

We celebrated New Years at Grandpa Bruce & Grandma Julie's house.  Our friends, Marci, Scott and their two kids joined us.  Jacque liked playing with Maylee...both girls made it until midnight.  It is fun giving Kev a hard time about 2yr old Jacque being able to make it to midnight and he could not.  :-)
